Sickness
How sickness came into the world
1 Sin
When Adam sinned, then death came and sickness was born into the world.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
To put an end to sickness and death, God sent Jesus to take away the sin which is the root cause of sickness and disease.
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All our sin was put on Christ. We now partake of God's forgiveness and receive the benefits of this great salvation.
2 Curse of the law (read Deut 28)
Jesus took care of the curse of the law (Christ has redeemd us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. Gal 3:13-14.
Generational curses which are weaknesses or sicknesses passed from one generation to another - or inherited diseases - have all been dealt with at the cross.
3 Satan as a tormentor puts sickness on mankind
E.g, Job 2:7, Luke 13:16. Infectious diseases, cancer, etc. are all diseases put on mankind to torment and to destroy.
4 Natural causes
E.g., accidents, poor nutirtion, bodily poison from what we ingest, unhealthy aging (Moses was 120 years old. None of his natural forces were abated.)
At the cross he took away our sin, socknesses and diseases, and pains. He made us whole.
By faith we can receive the benefits from Jesus' suffering and death.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
- Psalm 103:2-5
